Two Layers, One Cleaner Litter Box

This hybrid clumping litter pairs a plant-based cassava and corn starch base with a carbon-activated sodium bentonite layer. You pour them in a 1:1 ratio, and the two layers work together: the pale base stops wet litter from sticking to the tray, while the dark mineral layer locks onto moisture and odour. The result is a firm, tight clump that lifts out in one piece instead of crumbling back into the box.

Layer 1 — Cassava & Corn Starch Base

A soft, fine granule that cushions paws and keeps the bottom of the tray dry. Because it does not cement itself to the box, scooping stays quick and the tray needs a full wash less often.

Layer 2 — Carbon Bentonite

Sodium bentonite swells and binds on contact with liquid, forming a solid clump within seconds. Activated carbon in the granule traps the ammonia smell that builds up between scoopings, which matters most in a household with more than one cat.

How to Set Up the Box

1. Pour the pale cassava base in first and spread it evenly, about 3–4 cm deep.
2. Add the dark bentonite layer on top in roughly the same amount.
3. Scoop solids daily and stir the layers lightly once a week. Top up with whichever layer runs low.
4. Empty and wash the tray fully every three to four weeks, depending on how many cats use it.

Frequently Asked Questions

Does the whole box have to be used at once?

No. The four packs are sealed separately, so you can open one base and one bentonite pack for a fresh tray and keep the rest closed. That also lets you change the ratio between refills.

Is it safe for kittens?

The litter is a plant starch and mineral blend with no added fragrance. Very young kittens explore with their mouths, so introduce it once they are reliably using a tray and are past the stage of eating litter.

Will it track around the house?

The 0.5–2 mm granule is fine, so a small amount will travel on paws. A mat in front of the tray and a 3–4 cm depth keep tracking low, and the low-dust formula means less settles on nearby surfaces.

How often do I need to replace the litter completely?

With daily scooping, a full change every three to four weeks is typical for one cat. Add a cat and shorten that interval.
